The IT Assistant provides essential technical support and assistance to the Information Technology (IT) department. This entry-level position is responsible for aiding in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and setup of hardware, software and when needed Audio Visual Systems, as well as assisting staff with their technology-related needs. Main Responsibilities Technical Support: Assist users with hardware and software issues, troubleshooting problems as they arise. Provide basic technical support to faculty, staff and students. Respond to helpdesk requests and incidents in a timely and professional manner. Hardware Maintenance: Assist in the set-up and configuration of computers, printers, and other peripherals. Conduct basic hardware repairs and upgrades under supervision. Ensure that computer labs and IT equipment are maintained and organized. Software Assistance: Install, update, and troubleshoot software applications. Assist users with software-related inquiries. Aid in the management of software licenses and updates. Network Support: Help with basic network troubleshooting. Set up and maintain network connections and devices. Monitor network performance and report issues. Documentation: Assist in maintaining documentation related to IT procedures and systems. Create user guides and instructional materials. Assist in keeping an inventory of IT assets. User Training: Assist in conducting training sessions for end-users. Provide guidance on using IT resources effectively and securely. Promote IT best practices among users.
